Annmarie Muna, President/General Manager, AM Insurance, attends ‘Cruise Shipping Miami’ at the Miami Beach Convention Center, Florida on March 14 – 17, 2011. Some of the sessions she attended were: Luxury at Sea; Tastes and Trends Onboard; and Niche Cruise Products; Where in the World?; and Where Ship Meets Shore.
AM Insurance and its staff supported the American Cancer Society Relay for Life this past April 9, 2011. Continental/United challenged teams from around the island to the best times in a men’s and coed Plane Pull event titled “Towing the line to save lives”.
AM Insurance placed 4th in the co-ed division, posting their best time at 5.36 seconds. Team AM Insurance beat out 20 other teams in the co-ed division and posted a better time than more than half of the men’s division. Teams mustered their collective energy to tug a Continental Airlines 737 aircraft, 12 feet, with a total weight of 145,000 lbs, in the shortest amount of time to win the title.

Special recognition to : David Martin for being on time and first to show. Gerard Blas – Team Captain Monica – for recruiting the extra female representative to qualify and for pulling the plane even with her limitations. Also she got her Husband to provide us additional manpower from the 44th National Guard Squadron. Josh Mendiola for recruiting additional help from Foremost. Not to forget – our former employees – Lani, Jake, Bobby Tyler, Jolaine and Phillip (David’s friend).
This year in lieu of doing a Christmas gift exchange between employees the AM staff and management decided to give back to the community by donating their time and treasurers.
On January 8, 2011 AM Insurance Employees volunteered to help the Guma Mami Staff bring the spirit of the holidays to one hundred consumers and their family members. “The consumers look forward to this event every year and we try to do it around the three kings celebration which is why we have it in early January,” said Bernadita P. Grajek, Executive Director of Guma Mami.
Consumers enjoyed being served a fiesta meal by AM Insurance and Guma Mami Staff, as well as, 100 baskets full of donated consumable items.
Guma’ Mami, Inc., is a non-profit local organization whose mission is to facilitate the full inclusion and integration of individuals with developmental disabilities and mental illnesses into their communities through individual and family supports.

AM Insurance staff, Tricia Granillo, Juan Muna, Warren Waki, and Gerard Blas attend the Guam Chamber of Commerce Small Business Focus & Development Committee in cooperation with the Guam Small Business Development Center 2011 attended the Small Business Management Seminar titled Insurance & Bonding for Small Business on February 25, 2011 at the Outrigger Guam Resort. Fred Granillo from Pacific SBDC, Pamela Cruz from Takagi & Associates, Inc., and Adam Baron from Cassidy’s Associated Insurers were the presenters for the seminar on insurance issues and bonding 101.
AM Insurance celebrated its 17th anniversary on January 17, 2011. Annmarie first started her business in her studio in Mangilao. After a short period, AM Insurance relocated to Ada’s Commercial and Professional Center, which is now J&G Commercial Center. Just recently, the company acquired the additional office space next door to include a conference room and the administrative services department.
